The Hide Away Safe docking station is designed as a DIY installation.

If you own a drill and screw driver or spanner, depending on the fastener type being used to install the docking station, you can install it.

Once installed the Hide Away Safe slides into the docking station then locked with the included high security Abloy PROTEC key.

Due to public liability and general insurance reasons we cannot state exactly how to install the Hide Away Safe docking station into any surface.

about installing the Hide Away Safe docking station

Install the docking station to almost any flat surface at any angle, even upside down, using screws, bolts or ACRYLIC (water based) glue into which the Hide Away Safe slides in then lock it with the included high security Abloy PROTEC key.

The docking station has pre-drilled holes in it, we recommend what ever type of fastener you decide to use to install the docking station you place a fastener in the 10 pre-drilled holes to install it, 5 along each side of the docking station.

The following picture shows various fastener types you can use depending on the surface the docking station is being installed to.

Following are suggestions about fastener types you can use to install the docking station onto common known surfaces.

wood including marine ply or other wood composite products

coach screws, type 17 wood tek screws or a minimum 8 gauge full thread wood screws, as long as possible

note: make suitable allowance for the thickness of the attaching medium when deciding on the fastener length
acrylic glue - Fuller Max Bond Construction Adhesive - Fast Grip 420g (must be acrylic water based) plus the fastener type mentioned above

type 17 wood tek screws full thread with hex head drive

steel - less than 1mm thick

type 17 wood tek screws (they have a higher pitch between each thread), large diameter steel pop rivets, bolts and washers
acrylic glue - Fuller Max Bond Construction Adhesive - Fast Grip 420g (must be acrylic water based) plus the fastener type mentioned above

marble - generally under a kitchen bench top

acrylic glue - Fuller Max Bond Construction Adhesive - Fast Grip 420g (must be acrylic water based) may be used, however we highly recommend you contact your kitchen manufacturer for their recommendation

concrete

specific heavy duty masonry fastenings
loxins as the bolt head stays a consistent height as its tightened
acrylic glue - Fuller Max Bond Construction Adhesive - Fast Grip 420g (must be acrylic water based) plus the fastener type mentioned above

important

Plastic raw plugs or similar MUST NOT BE USED under any circumstance.

note

If you intend moving the docking station to another location do not use acrylic water based glue just the fastener of your choice.
